I adore meeting Darwin families and hearing about their incredible birth stories. All so different from one another, yet I was not expecting the story I was about to be told  on  how newborn Nadia decided to make her grand entrance to the world. I hung on to every word in just amazement! Congratulations to Adeline and Roch! You two make quite the power team! Adeline you are just one beautiful and strong mumma!

“We were very lucky to fall pregnant after two months of trying for her. I was so happy when I found out I was having a girl because it’s what my husband always wanted. I couldn’t wait to see and hold her after seeing her via scans for 9 months.

By 39 weeks I wanted her out as I was over her tiny feet kicking me in the ribs, so I did everything that was suggested to bring on my labour such as pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, bouncing on my birthing ball, walks, dates.. you name it and I did it. She finally began to come and after a full on 2 hours of labour, she decided she couldn’t wait to get to the hospital,  she was born in my car, on the way to the Royal Darwin Hospital.

After almost traumatising her daddy and mummy, we looked at her dark full head of hair, big eyes, long fingers and tiny toes and fell in love. She completes us! So glad we captured our pregnancy and newborn with Susan! Loved the neutral colours and subtle tones. It brought out her features and I loved the photo. Overall such a great, positive and empowering experience.

Susan was great with little Nadia, gentle and patient when she wasn’t settling. She even let me breastfeed and give her cuddles between photos. It made me a little less anxious and Nadia settle better. Thank you Susan!”
