Introducing Casey.
“Born on Valentine’s Day, 14 – 2 – 2020; weighing 3.188 g and length 51.5 cmBorn at the Darwin Birth Centre (RDH), water birth, with the same midwife present for the birth of all my boys, and antenatal/post natal care with Sophie-Lee. It truly was a beautiful, and ‘easy’ birth (for want of a better word) .My midwife, Jenelle, organised for our midwife for Jordan, Jenny, to visit the Birth room after Casey was born.A reunion 14 years on!It was a very special day.
Unfortunately I was very unwell with the pregnancy, but as with each of my babes, I savoured the precious feeling of baby’s growth and movements, and the knowledge of a little addition to our family. A highlight during my pregnancy was our trip to WA for a month, when we swam and snorkelled the world heritage Ningaloo Reef, and hiked and swam the gorges of Karijini National Park. I was most well when in these places, they were therapeutic.
We hope to show Casey the natural beauty of our country, early in his lifetime.
We revealed the pregnancy to our children by hiding 4 Scrabble tiles, spelling b – a – b – y, in the lounge room, which they needed to find and solve the unknown word. When the word ‘baby’ was made, they were both surprised and teary – and relieved that the reason for my unwellness was pregnancy. The girls had suspected I may have been pregnant. There was so much joy from the children, family and friends as they were told about Casey. We didn’t find out baby’s gender, so the mystery added more excitement and suspense for the birth day.Jordan, Sophie-Lee, Quinn and Riley are so gentle and natural with Casey. He is a very loved baby. There was much anticipation leading up to his birth, as we prepared for the needs of baby. The children waited very patiently, both during the pregnancy and on the birth day. When they first saw him, at 1/2 hour old, there were tears of joy, and feelings of awe at his tiny form. As we home school they spend much time with him now, and the bond is already strong. As a mother, it’s a beautiful thing to witness. Casey loves cuddles with his siblings, being with them in his wake times, and falling asleep in their arms. He’s also started smiling, which melts us every time.Capturing our family with Little Cherub was a special experience. Your gentleness and professionalism infused every aspect of the process and experience. We will treasure the photos, and the moments in time they capture. The studio was stunning, comfortable and inspiring, with all the props and sets. It was so clean, tidy and welcoming.”~ JanelleFor more information, or to make a booking, please click “here“
